Project 365 App

i am a little late to the awesome world of i-phone apps, but since Santa decided to bring me the NEW iphone 4 for Christmas, I have been quite the frequent customer at the app store.

One of my new favorites?

ya know how all those cool, organized, on-top-of-it artsy craftsy people try to take a picture a day? So jealous, but there is NO way that would ever work for me. I can barely figure out how to download pictures off of my big camera, let along keep them all organized in one place?

Enter this little beauty. (might I add it is FREE!)

i mean, the pictures have to come from your camera but still, you take a picture, and with one little click it is automatically organized into your PICTURE-A-DAY calendar. :) you can write a caption if you want or just simply have the photo.

Fun. Let's see how long this lasts, shall we? :) I'm thinking I can at LEAST make it until March. Maaaaybbeee April. :)

New Monday Fundays :)

i am actually excited to get back on a schedule tomorrow.

i don't think i am the only one who is ready for school and work and normal routine to resume, either.

today, the neighbor dad came over and borrowed the chain saw, and said, "eh. I don't know if its a good idea or not, but I invited all the neighborhood kids over to cut down some trees with me..." running out of entertainment ideas perhaps? :)

a cute little tutu wearing-toddler at the grocery store was throwing a tantrum in the cereal aisle today, when i head her momma yell, "emma kate, if you don't get in that cart RIGHT THIS INSTANT, you will NOT be going to school tomorrow!"

and i KNOW, i KNOW. i hate when I find a blog, then the girl goes and gets engaged and starts planning her wedding or decides to do a triathalon or lose weight. The funny, insightful, witty posts all turn into posts about wedding cakes. or trying on veils. or low calorie mid morning snacks. which is GREAT. but I know no one reaaaaallly cares about whether my wedding dress will be white or ivory. :)

but whatev. my blog. i can talk about my LOVE for weight watchers :) weekly update:

~weighed in this morning and changed my goal weight.

Here we go. Twenty pounds need to go.

Not like LOSE 20 pounds,

like GET RID of 20 pounds because I NEVER want to see it again :)

(this blog stuff is starting to get to me, i even. gasp. took some before pictures of myself this morning :) but i will only post them if i have some after ones to show too ;)

2012

As I sit here in my silk pajamas watching Father of the Bride 2 and eating frozen mint peppermint patties and valentine M & M's, I have been dreading having to make my 2012 resolutions.

Normally, I have my resolution posters made, hung up on the back of my door. My calorie journal is flipped to tomorrow morning with my new expensive pen ready to go. I probably have a brand new outfit and running shoes to take to the gym tomorrow. My daily bible devotional book is on my night stand set to go. Closet is organized, legs are freshly shaven and I probably have a hair cut scheduled for the morning.

Needless to say, I LOVE MAKING NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS! and the problem? it never, never, never, never works :)

I like to function is a New Year's Resolution type world. Do all the "bad stuff" and set a date when I will start to accomplish my goals. and my goals? I don't mess around. Run half marathons, read the bible in a year, those are things you can commonly find on my resolution list. And while I have ran half marathons, lost weight, and have read SOME of the bible, I have realized setting up these strict, black-white goals are not a good idea for me :) I set myself up for failure, and when I miss ONE day of my half marathon training the second week of January, I already feel like I have ruined the year.

But my friends, NOT. ANY. MORE.
While my parents already rolled their eyes when I started spouting off my New Year's resolutions this morning (I mean seriously, I already know Spanish, how hard could it possibly be to learn Latin? :)

I had a fabulous New Year's Eve (minus my brilliant idea to make Gin and Cokes?? Umm. horrible invention.) Not pictured? Our WONDERFUL dinner at the weird chain Thai restaurant where we had appetizers, dinner AND raspberry lemon drops. :) (well Drew didn't have raspberry lemon drops, but he did steal some drinks of mine. In my opinion? Muuuch better than his boring beer.)
New Year's Day? Same exact spot. Less than half a day after the above picture, we resumed our position with Pizza Hut and our favorite appetizers.

so yes. 5 pound weight gain, not a second of exercise, unless you count getting up to throw away the above said Gin and Coke to replace it with a Rum and Coke. LOTS of TV. and twittering. :)
So. deep breath. instead of making my New Year Resolutions, I am going to make a list of things/ideas I hope to do in the New Year:
1. TAKE CARE OF MY BODY!!!!!!!!!!!! (notice this does not say lose 20 pounds by this date, or weigh myself every single Thursday at 8AM and record it in my journal)
2. Try and spend more time away from technology, and more time having REAL human to human conversations.
3. Run a half marathon WITH MY FRIENDS in March! (and it is taking all I have to not set a goal time of less than two hours for this :)
4. Enjoy ENJOY ENJOY every single second of this wedding planning to Mr. Hot-STuff-Man-of-My-Dreams.
5. Work on loving God and loving others, instead of judging.
At the beginning of December I told myself that after the holidays and the business, we would REALLY begin the wedding planning process. (this included: Operation Be-a-Smoking-Hot-Bride) and plan a wedding worthy of an award. I was thinking, "Wedding of the year?" Since clearly the 2011 award went to Kate and Prince William.) :)
Soo.. That means, that tomorrow, my normal old self would drag my butt to the gym at 6AM for spin class, and visit the Co-Op for groceries.
But. Nope. I am going to take care of my body. It is not a garbage can or a garbage disposal. It doesn't need food just because food is there. I need to listen to when I am really truly hungry, and exercise to keep my body healthy; NOT to be able to run a 7 minute mile.
So you won't find my typical motivation board of supermodels around my mirror tomorrow. Nope. I am going to have MY best body ever, and that doesn't mean being a size 2.
and next year, I will NOT be writing a post like this. I will be talking about what a great year 2012 was ;)
watch me ;)
and for reals. my dad JUST yelled at me from the living room, asking if I wanted to go to our favorite greasy little breakfast diner for breakfast in the morn... hmmm.... ;)
