mail time

 when you come in the back door we have a long counter space with cabinets under it. I suppose kinda like an entry way? even though that area is also the dining room/part of the laundry room.

this place QUICKLY became a catch-all for keys, groceries, purses, wallets... DQ blizzard cups... you get the picture... :)

which is all fine and dandy...

but then add to that pile all the junk mail and bills and it was really stressing me out. It was like the first thing you see when you come in the back door and it always just immediately agitated me when I walked in the door, reminding me of bills to pay etc.

i was doing some research about cute entry ways, and realized that while I love our little house, there was no way to make this area SUPER cute, so I just decided to go with practical.

love these. but considering we don't have kids and our don't live in our "home" home, I didn't want to spend too much time and money. 

so i decided to roll with this type of idea. 

so i kinda tried. 

then added two of our wedding centerpiece boxes to hold bills to pay and then random mail. 

i started by meal planning for the week on the chalk board. 

BUUUUUT, the chalk will NOT ERASE! like seriously. there are 5 weeks of Monday night dinners peeking through on this silly board. (and we tend to have tacos a lot on Mondays apparently?)

so for the meantime, I have tried to cover it up with some stickable accessories. 

still a work in progress, buuuut it is SO nice to have a place or our mail. 

still working on the calendar part and where to write our weekly schedule. any ideas??!
