we all think that we should have a specific hand of cards that we were dealt.

Maybe a full house, or a flush or whatever gets lots of points in poker?

One card might be an amazing, fulfilling career that ALSO brings home major bacon. Another card? A smoking hot husband/wife and gorgeous, talented, water-polo playing children. You should own a house, have it furnished like Pottery Barn in every room, and go to Hawaii for vacation once a year, with every third year being a family trip to Italy.

that's what your "supposed" to have.

By 18, you have a nice car, have gotten into the best sorority and have daddy's credit card.

25? The career of your dreams, a well-to-do boyfriend who wants to take you ring shopping.

Late twenties? Buy that house, that double stroller and everything else that we "should" have.

I believe in God. I try to live a life that honors him, so God should give me that perfect hand of cards that society and He says I should have. Right? Right?????

At church we had an awesome talk about how there comes a point in our lives when we have to come to terms with the ACTUAL hand God dealt us.

Not the hand we THINK we deserve or that our friends think we have.

If you are anything like me, you are missing a couple of those key cards. Actually... I would bet money that most of us don't have that royal flush.

and for the first time in my ENTIRE life, I think I am starting to realize that's okay.

and a crucial step of being okay with what God gave us? Accepting what he didn't.
