Rainy Lake Day

Washington gets a bad reputation about the rain and gloomy skies. I am not saying it isn't true, because it is entirely true. And usually it really bothers me. A LOT! Saturday I went to the Farmer's Market in the RAIN, couldn't wear my cute new running shoes on my run because it was RAINING... I was feeling very blah. It is supposed to be spring time, right? --->Then. I read this.
{Five steps from CALM MY ANXIOUS HEART to not feel anxious}

  • never allow yourself to complain about ANYTHING- not even the weather

  • never picture yourself in any other circumstances or someplace else

  • never compare your lot with another's

  • never allow yourself to wish this or that had been otherwise

  • never dwell on tomorrow-remember that tomorrow is God's, not ours.

Hmm... Fitting...Decide to try and start on the first one. Not complain, not even about the weather...

So what does Sunday involve?

Get ready for lake season, of course! Without complaining about the weather? Hm.

Firewood needs to be restocked...

Kayaks need to be "de-spider-nested..." Very technical job :)

And whenever I went to open my mouth and complain, "If it wasn't raining we could open the umbrella!" or "We could make smores tonight if the firepit wasn't flooding!" I remembered. 'Nope. Just don't say it. Don't complain about the weather. Geez. Try for ONE day to not complain about the weather.' And look how the night ended.
