apple blossoms

so when the temperature gauge says this, and you cross this quaint little bridge, you have got to think your entering the happiest little town this side of the Mississippi.

it was apple blossom time, so the orchards were in full bloom.

yeah. well. don't let these beautiful orchard blossoms fool ya. :)

you guys. Drew and I decided to take a nice little jog and by that I mean go up to the "water box". What is that, you ask? it is like a point on the TOP of the little mountain by Drew's orchards. So we jogged up there and then Drew wanted to run back down. It was soo steep that I was afraid I would fall on my face, so I wanted to stroll down.

so Drew ran ahead of me. eventually he got out of my sight. fine. it was like a 10 minute jog STRAIGHT up, so it wouldn't take too long to go down.

well my friends. I didn't take the right turn apparently. I was strolling along the orchard path when I realized that the trail was rockier than I had remembered.

about 10 minutes later I realized I had absolutley NO idea where I was. I mean, I knew I was close to Drew's house in the orchard, but I had TOTALLY lost my sense of orientation. No cell phone. Just the 70 degree sun, apple blossoms and LOTS of bumblebees. Great. :)

I eventually found the concrete road that runs through his town and walked through the little town back to his house. no biggie. little detour. So I get to the house and Drew and his parents are nowhere to be found. hmm.. I grab a drink of water when I see my hottie boyfriend fly by on this baby. Like picture a cowboy riding in on his horse. only eastern-washingtonized. A man riding his four wheeler through the orchards.

he looks at me. and yells, "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WE ARE ALL LOOKING FOR YOU!"

whoops. his parents were out wandering the orchard in the 70 degree heat looking for me :(

so didn't let these picturesque shots fool ya, the orchard can be a dangerous place. :)

later that afternoon we went to the Apple Blossom Festival downtown.

Apparently I'm not the only one that is bad with directions in apple orchards :)

pssh.. apparently I didn't take the "hairpin" turn that I was supposed to? what that even means? I do not know. :)
