Three Things Tuesday

1.) Ok. Grab a tissue.

As I struggle and struggle and struggle with weight and pesky pounds, this little story plops right into my life. So inspiring and really puts things into perspective.

Jennifer Darmon and her boyfriend had been dating, and were on a road trip in 2008 when they got in a horrible car accident. Shannon became paralyzed and was told she could never walk again...

She soon got engaged and made a promise to herself... She was going to walk down that wedding aisle with her daddy.

And guess what? She practiced and practiced and practiced.

And to the surprise of ALLL of the teary-eyed guests at the wedding, Jennifer walked down that aisle to her waiting husband-to-be. :) Tears. You go, girl! And as Matt Lauer put it on the Today Show: the moral of the story? Never tell Jennifer she can't do something.

2.) Meet the Newest Member of the McFamily...
I Loooooove Rolo's. And they never get any credit. They don't have Rolo Blizzards at Dairy Queen and they aren't for sale at most concession stands... But whenever I do have a Rolo, I am like oh my gosh these are so good...

On my way to work I pass like 54,516 McDonalds. What did I see today on the billboard thing?

Ummm. Heck yes.

3.) "Baby Steps to Happiness"

I saw this at the garage sale this last weekend as we were sorting through stuff and I snagged it. As my mom rolled her eyes :) Let's be real. Who doesn't want secret tips on how to be happy? :) I randomly threw it in my purse and the few times I have flipped through it, THREE people have come over to me with weird looks on their face because they all thought I was reading a baby book. hehe. Anyways. I was surprised with the little gems of wisdom Mr. John had in his weird little book.

"If you had four weeks to live, how would you change your life? Whatever you would do then- DO NOW. That's what's really important to you."

Then under his little advice, he adds a quote,

"Once, while St. Francis of Assisi was hoeing his garden, he was asked, "What would you do if you were to suddenly learn that you would die at sunset today? " He replied, "I would finish hoeing my garden."

Watch out world, I am gonna learn how to be a motivational speaker from John Q. Baucom, (Ph.D, by the way) :)
